Ah yes, that would explain everything. It's not Bush, it's not that he is Republican or Democrat, it's the fact that Bush wears cowboy boots and acts like a man, instead of your typical English sot. You like Jethro Tull? They weren't bad. Speaking of oldies, though, Bob Dylan is in town [Dallas] tomorrow night. I may check that out.

Hi JEB, "sot" is a great word. Gets kind of tiresome limiting oneself to a small number of tired adjectives when responding to these threads, and amusing oneself. Sorry if I did something you thought was British. Didn't mean to confuse you. I'm 'merican, many generations. Many more to go, Lord willing and the creek don't rise ('merican expression). Unlike Ground Zero, I don't get paid to do this, so I have to attempt humor or a little color occasionally. Anyway, imagine John Walker, made a few wrong decisions, becomes a loser on a scale bigger than one can imagine. From supposedly an upper-middle-class home, throws that away, wants to be a black Muslim, that doesn't work for obvious reasons, gets hooked up with the Taliban, and ends up injured, freezing for days, under water, the subject of weeks of daisy-cutters and a bunch of Talibanians he trusted running around getting shot AND HE STILL TRUSTS THEM !! Finally, he's about to be killed anyway, crawls out, gets interrogated, isn't killed yet, has Ashcroft looking for death penalty offenses, just to be sure, isn't killed yet, and finally gets to an American court, where he's safe and ready for due process, in the country that would have given him a real life to begin with. That's what I mean by "poor sot". Not only poor in the financial and spiritual sense, but a tragedy of black humor of large proportions. He'll live to see his brainwashing fade away as he looks through the bars of his window for decades, if he doesn't get shafted by cellmates, wondering "wtf was I thinking" I feel more sorrow for the family of Mike Spann, who was trying his best to peacefully interrogate, but somehow they all screw up and don't protect him. He's got wife and child, and parents, now exposed to the retribution of any cells that may be left uncontrolled in this country. But the irony for Walker is stupifying. Jethro Tull'ian? Don't know what you mean by that. Isn't he muslim now?
