Keith, I'm just following what the market is telling me. I'm in gold because it is going up. I need no other reason. I will buy QCOM after it bases and the market stops readjusting valuations.

keith kill the bong, Qcom could sustain 20-30% growth rates and the stock could go to 20. The reality is not at issue, we all know how great Qcom is and that they have a great product turn. However tech business is dying, and everyone is crying. qcom eventially be a great buy, but trying to catch falling knives is getting tiresome. Hearing people say how stupid those arer who dont try is also tiresome.

KF - 1 or 2 months before Japan and the US flip the switch for 3G nationwide

How do you know that is going ot happen. Three hours is a long time in this economic clemate never mind three months which is a veritable lifetime.

Best,

I have no position in gold. I have serveral positions in energy that have been absolutely destroyed. It was supposed to be a safe haven that went sour. When people turn from investments to commodities for protection, you often get a double whammy - you puke the bottom on stocks and get nailed 50 % in commodoties. Thanks, but no thanks!!

"What's the point of buying gold at the end of a recession when all the major restructurings have been made? People that hedged tech with energy 12 months ago got fucking slaughtered. I see no reason why gold would do much better this time around."

Gold has been in a 15 year bear market where in every financial institution has embraced paper assets with dubious financial reserve. We are at the end of a huge credit bubble, where major economies are rolling over and about to implode. Multi-billion dollar companies are vanishing, bonds defaulted and stocks plumeting. Why not own a hard asset? Gold minning stocks have low pe's pay divedends and their profit margins are increasing with the price of gold/ Your misunderstanding of Gold as a Hard asset is no diferent from people who misunderstood Qcoms position. I would also argue that the recession has hardly begun, and if you are right we will be hit by massive inflation by the money and asset appreciation a quick rebound would incur.
