There are some that say that all gaps have to get filled. Not sure that I believe it, but I have seen a fair amount of evidence to support it.

China Mobile is by far the dominant mobile wireless player here. China Mobile stores every block or two. No China Unicom stores seen yet.

I have talked with a few people and the general attitude is that there is no reason to switch to a CDMA phone at this point. Cost is the same and none of the benefits that CDMA provides are available yet. Heard rumors that 3G trials will start here in China in Q1 of 2003. So maybe that is good news, I don't know.
