Hello engineer:

Just curious. If GSM requires a synchronized connection to keep a call connected (over a fixed channel or circuit?) then how does the 1x card synchronize with async?

Thanks.

GSM and TDMA both use MAP41 core ??

Are you telling us that the North American persons that wrote IS-41 and the European persons that wrote MAP (GSM 09.02) came up with inter-operable systems ... or even the same result?

Either is difficult to believe.

engineer...I'm not a techie but you indicted that the upgrade path for GSM1X "would be a lot of work". Today IJ when asked also said something like "there is a lot of work to be done" in reference to GSM1X.

Are you saying that the work to be done is on the technical side and or "the convincing them to go with it side"?

Question: Is there anything really new here with GSM1X or is it just a difference in terminology? Would you care to speculate if you foresee any current GSM carriers either in the USA, China or Europe taking this path and if so, what might the time
frame be? Thank You.
