Mr Palau, my labelling began with the preface "typical". Are their exceptions? Sure there are. And I would consider you one of them. But let's face it, that's what makes you so unique a liberal poster here, not the typical one.

It's meant as a complement.

What I find so strange is that you feel a philosophical kinship with people like bia, or the many others of the left wing variety who've come and gone from this thread.

I have no doubt that we want much the same things for our country: economic growth providing more jobs and opportunity, better schools for our children, appropriate and effective services for the needy, greater security against external threat and internal disorder, and the like. Political disagreement need not go beyond how to get where we generally want to go, what is effective, what should be the trade-offs........
