JK,

There is one mythological story based upon this verse in the Quran:

017.001
PICKTHAL: Glorified be He Who carried His servant by night from the Inviolable Place of Worship to the Far distant place of worship the neighbourhood whereof We have blessed, that We might show him of Our tokens! Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Seer.

The story in their tradition goes something like this, that he rode on a winged horse one night from Mecca to Jerasulem. According to tradition, the angel Gabriel took Muhammad on this trip. From their, Muhammad ascended to heaven where he saw heaven and hell. He supposedly spoke to Allah on his trip, and ran into people from the bible.

I can get more details of this mythical adventure, if you would like. There is no physical evidence or any physical proof that Muhammad ever went to Jerasulem, hence making the statement, "King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem" true. Unless we want to talk about myth, fable, or the spiritual realm. And if we do want to include that, I've been to many, many places in my dreams that I can tell you about. A trip from Mecca to Jerasulem to Paradise and Hell is nothing compared to some of my trips in my dreams....

God Bless,
IGIT

PS - Places he supposedly went during this trip were not even in existence during Muhammad's time, more evidence this trip was suspicious....
