I think you'll find you've been misinformed about GSE debt. It is not backed by the "full faith and credit" of the U.S. Treasury. And the equity in GSEs is just as much at risk at that in ENRNQ and GBLXQ. Think about that. You've become too complaisant. Especially in view of Franklin Raines' cavalier asset growth nonsense. Remember Silverado? I do.

Neither the direct debt or the mortgage backed securities of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are obligations of the U.S. Treasury.
