Bubbles go with the territory, because there is an inherently speculative element in the capital markets, and there will always be losers. There is no way to cure it without playing things so close to the vest that industry becomes sclerotic. In the end, the decision is that corrections are preferable to a retrograde industrial policy.

Specifically, on "the diversion of scarce human resources into the acquisition of wealth", I guess I think it is a free country, so I am not sure what the issue is......
