SH, you forget that QCOM is not all CDMAOne--it is also 100% of any flavor of 3G

You are correct. But in that regard the questions become: is there a 3G future and how far away is it.

Three or four years ago I would have sworn (and certainly did bet) that broadband was on the horizon with explosive potential. As one tidbid said: you can never be too rich, too good looking, or have too much broadband. But we all know what happened to @Home, Global Crossing, Aware, NorthPoint, Rythems, etc. etc.

Somethimes the future does not arrive on schedule. Do we need 3G? Does anyone care?

Digital Video Recorders are a fantastic idea, but sales languish. Sandisk was involved in half a dozen tornado technologies, but it's share price still fell off a cliff. I think the market is telling us something about QCOM. Their earnings growth, the growth of CDMA, and other factors have not been as positive as I would like to see.

Sometimes I think I'm smarter than the market. Sometimes, I think it is best to go along.
