I don't know what upper limit Scumbria came up with, but he claimed that Intel would never be able to scale up the Pentium 4 clock speed much above the 1.5 GHz launch speed - due to the 2x ALU clock.

Last I heard, Scumbria was doing fine - but not participating in any Internet posting ventures.
