Hi Neo, your premises are both wrong. I don't "prefer" the French account, or the UK account. I don't make these things up. Others may, and they may be correct or ficticious.

However, I do prefer not to read only one POV, particularly from the government, after many years of watching and comparing.

I can tell you this: I no longer automatically believe the government will tell the truth, if there is CYA involved. I've also learned certain agencies can carefully craft synthetic POV and synthetic stories to achieve desired purposes. Are you shocked? No, you're not.

We have information discrepancies going on, and the only way to know the range of possibilities is to examine a broad range of sources. The idea that a given source is either always right or always wrong is misguided. That goes for the government agencies, WSJ, tabloids, Drudge, chat rooms, etc.

At the start of this war it was time to "shoot first and ask questions later". Well, we've done our shooting, and now it's time to start asking lots of questions.
