spiralcubed,

Is that a lutz or a triple axel?

Oh, never mind....

Thanks for that Van Morrison tone poem. I had no idea where Carroll picked that up. Now I know, another marvelous example of the serendipity of collective intelligence (right wingers take note, this doesn't mean you can label me a member of the Comintern now, OK?) which made me think about something I read a couple days ago here:

harpers.org

It turns out that:

(The) rank of "serendipity" among words most often queried on Cambridge Dictionaries Online last October : 1

Year in which the word was coined from the Persian fairy tale "The Three Princes of Serendip" : 1754

well, you know how my mind works (or wanders, according to my friends on the Right) so I did some research on Serendip. Which led me inexorably to discover
serendip.brynmawr.edu
that Serendip is now called Sri Lanka, and was once Ceylon.
So it must be time for tea.
