I'm not sure what I'd make of that argument, one way or the other. The log axis would be needed if inflation were greater over the range, but it's only about 2:1. If capital formation were simply collecting interest, then a log axis would make sense, giving a slope that matched the interest rate. Maybe it really can be cumulative.
