Great discussion this morning. The Peter H, Qveau, and JS discusssion really makes one think about the Mr. Market metaphor that Buffet talks about. He is a manic depressive offering to sell stocks at huge prices one day and almost nothing the next. These valuation approaches by JS give a good rationale for the "low prices" and asking where future "competitive advantage" shows up on the balance sheet gives a rationale for the "high prices".

Didn't ever do the Tug thing, but got into some pretty hairy situations off the West Coast, in various harbors, and way out at sea.

That was great, thanks for re-affirming something I had forgotten. Some seamen are the luckiest bastards alive.
