but running a propaganda campaign is not among them

I would agree with you on propaganda, but amazingly enough, it seems to work.

You know Ray, almost every time I read one of your posts here, I feel like I am back in the '60s. Have you got an old VW bus and long hair? And why do you hate all Oil companies? Did your mother drop you at birth in a oil slick? Come on, give this country a break!

"Iran-Contra mess" is liberal double-speak. It's a "mess" because the Boland Amendment was probably unconstitutional. Congress criminalized the President's side in a disagreement about foreign policy - but setting foreign policy is part of the Executive function.

Nobody was ever convicted of violating the Boland amendment, just a few for lying to Congress. Our country supported real freedom fighters in Nicaragua, and that is something the Molly Ivans of the world won't forget. Was Negroponte and Reich convicted of lying to Congress? I don't remember. Otherwise, their crime is having a different political opinion.

I dislike shrillness no matter what the political flavor.
