Wiggle patterns can be any number of days with a minimum of three, but they seem to have an odd number of days in them... once the wiggle pattern is confirmed, it could run for a few days to as long as many months having signaled a major market turn...

Im sorry, I don't understand clearly understand your question about the failure rate once the trend reversal is established... could you ask that question in another way? TIA

Any time.....<g>

I think it would be worthy of our discussion on wiggle patterns to look at the March Value Line, there you can see a well formed three day sell wiggle right at the top of the market in early January...

Then there's the NAZ, look at the double top three day sell wiggle occurring on January 9, 10, and 11...

We can also see a second day variation for the Dow...

And the SP's...

All of these major market indices may still be working lower off those wiggle top patterns... I took a short March SP at 1094 in Friday's late afternoon rally based on the possibility the buy wiggle pattern in the SP's does fail... I first took a short at 90 and then it sold off to the 74.50 low of the day, but then I was stopped out at 88 in that late rally, I took only two points in that short trade, then I reshorted at 94 in that late rally.....
