MEXICO CITY, Feb 22, 2002 (El Economista/Corporate Mexico by Internet Securities, Inc. via COMTEX) -- Iusacell president Peter Burrowes has said he is in favor of the U.S. decision to takes its complaints about Mexico's telecommunications sector before the World Trade Organization."Anything that can break the dominance [in the market] is welcome," Burrowes said, adding that the new Federal Telecommunications Law should address this issue and strengthen the regulating body. Burrowes also says that foreign investment in telecommunications should be allowed to reach 100%. Under current law, Mexicans must own 51% of the shares in any local telephone companies.
