The basic hypocrisy of the Cheneys even extends to how their name is pronounced. In Wyoming, all their family friends refer to the "Cheneys" (rhymes with weinies). It's only the rest of the country that is being corsetted into chains by Cheney.....

Not to quibble, AC Flyer, but what do you see as 'independent' about Laura Bush?

Ever?

She got a bachelor's degree.

Okay.

Then what?

Married into the Bush empire?

To become the second greatest welfare queen in the country?

Behind her mother-in-law?

I equate 'independence' to 'self-reliance,' to a great degree.

Perhaps I'm misinterpreting what 'independence' means to you.
