Thanks for the local color. <smile>

So, New Zealand exports lamb, adventurers, dead do gooders and crackpot politicians.

Three out of four ain't bad.

Peter Blake was a victim of the ignorance people in developed countries hava about the Amazon jungle.

They've read about it in primary school and develop this wonder about a giant forest somewhere. The same way people got their minds by Apache Indians.

Children grown up but not leaving behind the fantasy.

A grown up person with knowledge of science would know the Amazon for what it is: It is not good for anything. Just for tree-growing feeding on the humus of the dead leaves.

I fail to understand the obssession of grown up with their child fantasy. My idea here exposed here in Brazil is that we should sell it for cash.

Cash in on the fantasy of the children -now grown ups with money- say, we would give it away fro adminsitrative purpose and get 10% of everything taken out of it. Which will amount to nothing since there is not to extract from there.

It was minutiately mapped by radar. DC-3 flying over bombing it with radar. Whatever was there to be found: Carajas Iron ore, some gold in spots- has been already secure. The rest are just useless trees feeding on themselves.

People who doesn't know much has to pay to learn it.
