Tech Outflows:
One reason I've mentioned this indicator in several posts is that it's difficult to get data on Sector $ flows. I was hoping someone might have gotten some data re the exact $ amount of outflows in mid-Sept for Tech Sector or Aggressive Growth. The two possible sources are Trim TAbs and AMG Data. I monitor the AMG Data site and any mentions on CNBC. Sometimes AMG mentions the Tech Sector, sometimes they don't. Usually any mentions are not precise. My research with historical data indicates that the one, two, three and four week mov aves are crucial. This is one case where using too long a period of time is not useful. There is a negative pressure on the Market when a sharp period of $ outflows disrupts the supply and demand situation and causes forced sales by mutual fund managers. Anyway, I'll continue monitoring my sources and keep you informed. If you learn anything specific re the mid-Sept period, please let me know. It'll help me place the current and future $ flow data in context.
