Carville U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit San Francisco, California (United States) ID: 168721 - 02/14/2002 - 1:22 - $45.00 Oral arguments were heard before the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in the case Flowers v. Carville. The case brought by Gennifer Flowers charges James Carville, George Stephanopoulos and Little, Brown & Company with defamation and false light. These charges stem from statements published on CNN's "Larry King Live" program in January and February of 1998 and statements in a book authored by Stephanopoulos. Former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton is also named in the defamation lawsuit. The lower court dismissed the defamation lawsuit (filed on Flowers behalf by Judicial Watch) in November 2000, because the U.S. District Court in Las Vegas, Nevada ruled the case had passed the statute of limitations. The complaint is seeking monetary damages from the defendants and costs of attorney's fees. and the more detailedinside.c-spanarchives.org :8080/cspan/cspan.csp?command=dprogram&record=155181070 Forum The Spy Next Door Barnes & Noble Booksellers Washington, District of Columbia (United States) ID: 168614 - 02/01/2002 - 0:41 - $29.95 Shannon, Elaine, Correspondent, Time Magazine, Criminal Justice (2001-) Blackman, Ann, Correspondent, Time Magazine (1994-) The co-authors discuss their book, The Spy Next Door, published by Little, Brown and Company. According to the authors, Robert Hanssen was probably the most destructive spy in American history. Mr. Hanssen was a twenty-five-year veteran FBI agent whose work involved the safeguarding of national security. The co-authors analyze how Mr. Hanssen was able to remain covert for 21 years. They also address the environment inside the FBI and the CIA that allowed Mr. Hanssen to operate for twenty-one years, even after doubts about him began to surface. ---- CSPAN is great, but was greater when I could put in on the hard disk. Hmm, common denominator, Little, Brown and whatever it was?? (I'm trying to learn the culture of no contraceptives)
