There is a Federal Law on the books that says all
will use HDTV by 2006. Are you going to spend the money
for a converter box for your old TV? Or buy a new one.

two years ago = $7,000
last year = $4000
this year = $1899 at sears.
next year = $1000 ???

the 2-hours of HDTV programming he probably can get every 24-hours

In NYC area, all TV towers and existing cable feeds went up in smoke 9/11.
I bought SONY VCR recently with this thing called VCR+ Gold from GMST (off 33% YOD). It was supposed to set time to the second from PBS signal that is no longer there. Maybe in about 2-3 PBS affiliate in NYC could complete fundraiser to replace equipment lost on WTC.
