And I got tired of typing. The Roman Catholic Church was shameful for centuries. And that is merely the sexual aspect of it. Can you imagine, it was unsafe at one point for females to venture near Vatican City, because they were invariably raped by the bishops and other members of church in the immediate vicinity. Killing, suppression of learning.... pretty awful legacy. And don't get me started on the California Indians, and how they were destroyed and cruelly treated by the "padres".
