1. Opinion based and a non-sequitur.

That's just silly.

2. His minced words were carefully phrased in order to not insult the Chinese government. Working with them toward reunification (under a democrat framework), while quietly working behind the scenes toward a democratic vision of unification, will probably prove more effective than a public display of disrespect.

Blah, blah, blah, he didn't answer the question. It wasn't that hard of a question.

3. The ABM treaty was signed with a non-existent government and we're not obliged to follow it.

We officially notified the "non-existent" country that we were withdrawing. The "non-existent country" argument was dropped a while back; no one outside of the conservative base bought it. Please try harder to keep up with the current rhetoric.

Building a missile defense shield is far more humane and intelligent than mutually assured destruction.

Other than there was a combined Intelligence Agency report that indicated that a missile defense shield has no benefit and increases the nuclear threat. [article posted earlier on this thread] Outside of that, it's more humane...feeds DoD contractors with many $$$.

4. In the relatively short time Bush was Governor of Texas he strengthened public education there.

Could be but the State of Texas says it's gotten worse and they have likely been underestimating the problem. [article posted earlier on this thread]

5. Too silly a statement to respond to. The partisan allegiance and downright hatred of anything Bush is clearly evident.

Sure. There's actually been some things that Bush did that I liked...e.g., increased Americorps by 50% and increased funding of Intelligence Agencies. I had no problem with the military pay increase or replacement of the expended precision weaponary [exclusive of the silly 42-ton artillery piece]. There are some things that Bush has done, that I don't have a position on...e.g., supported farm subsidies, including funding subsidies to not grow crops. Some object to that, I haven't studied farm subsidies enough to make a judgement on it.
