This comment also stood out for me when I read the article. In fact, I would have said the same thing twelve months ago....but I dont think that statement rings true anymore. Qualcomm seems to have made a real committment to W-CDMA and while there are still only two announced customers for their W-CDMA ASIC's, I think that will change over the next six to twelve months. The trials with Vodafone are an especially good sign...
