Yup. I've been on the road for a couple of months. Or at least it seems so. Back now, still trying to sell my house.

I thought Schindler's List was good too. Now there is another film, a Bruce Willis film, called Burk's War. It portrays a WWII Nazi prison camp. My own father-in-law spent two years in one. To this day, he won't eat kohlrabi because that's what he got for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And Klim, of course. (Milk spelled backwards --- which is what is was supposed to be.) There was a Steve McQueen movie called "The Great Escape." It twisted the truth a bit since McQueen portrayed an American. All the real escapees were Brits or Canadians, if memory serves. Some 70 or so escaped, of whom only thirteen were not recaptured and executed by the Germans.

It's like you have a duty to understand what they went through. My father-in-law's bomb group, the 306th, meets once a year and every so often returns to Thurleigh England. They plan to return again this year, but I'm afraid I will be unable to go.

Dad's 83 now, as are most of the 306th survivors. Someday they will all be gone. It makes my heart break.
