I don't think that's the next round of the price war, since AMD would lower OEM prices first in that case and we would see that development on Pricewatch. Maybe the prices apply only for boxed processor in Germany or are intended to keep boxed processor prices in line with gray market prices.b So it's sounds worse than it is IMO. My guess is that the next major price reduction is either when the XP2100+ is introduced or in early April when Intel will lower prices again.

According to Planet 3DNow!, AMD has informed its customers that it is going to reduce prices for boxed processors (Athlon XP as well as Duron) on February, 25 (= tomorrow).

So it seems that the price war is going into the next round...


Or there is an announcement in the pipeline?
