99+% of the code base is custom code developed by businesses to run their businesses.

Intel makes you re-write the software you invested years and dollars, sometimes millions of dollars, in writing and testing.

AMD doesn't.

Intel thinks its customers should bend over backwards and re-write their in-house systems to make things easier for Intel.

AMD is willing to work hard to reduce the effort its customers must make to get good performance from its products.

We'll see which strategy works best.
