Dan3 - You posted Intel and AMD presence has stayed about the same at Circuit City's 632 stores.

I am indeed impressed - how long did it take you to visit all those 632 stores and gather your statistics?

Re: "In today's ad from OfficeDepot (951 stores) there were 5 AMD systems and 4 Intel systems."

I see 4 AMD systems in my OfficeDepot flyer, and 3 of them are in the Build-you-own-computer section. Of course, people that enter the store and build their own computer can use Intel or AMD parts, so I don't see the benefit of advertising one over the other, since it says nothing about store inventory, or what people may choose to buy.

Last week's flyer had 3 AMD systems, and 2 were in the Build-you-own-computer section. There were 5 Intel systems that week. I suppose using these limited data points, you'd be one to suggest that AMD is making a huge comeback in retail.
