My scenario is for a double dip recession with the second dip worse- as in 1979-82 and 1987-91 - in the latter there was a market crash first and recession only in the second dip. Look at that time span in each case and all the positive news (ignoring Enronitis) coming out at the moment (GDP probably to be revised up for Q4)... My theory is that interest rates will be jacked up again before the real recession arrives.
