Bill -- how much did CIEN pay for ONIS? What 'premium' did CIEN pay? Where is ONIS stock today? Why did ONIS agree to a deal that is barely more than their cash position just before CIEN jumped off a bridge and took ONIS with them? The 'best deal' ONIS could get was a blatantly crappy deal Bill -- wake up. This sector sucks wind in the worst way. You never know, that could be a sign that it can't get much worse. Of course, on the other hand, everybody but you knows that it can and might get worse. That is why ONIS agreed to this truly pathetic deal. Look at the price of SONS if you need confirmation. Where is the takeover premium on SONS? There isn't one because these stocks suck big time. JDSU could also go bankrupt. I own it to have some exposure if the sector turns around before completely imploding. My cost basis is just under $9 -- which means I made a very poor investment indeed. You are the one who has been long this sector and high on on it all the way down. Good luck. As long as you realize that you are betting on long-shots you will only use money you can afford to kiss goodbye.
