Hey listen John... I don't see the US being the only nation doing the peace-keeping.. The UN is looking for a role on this planet to justify it's budget, I would suspect this is where they should be..

I'm willing to see US troops participate in the peace-keeping mission, but it's not our sole responsibility to rebuild Afghanistan or secure it's present government.

Nor should it be, so as to prevent Karzai or any Afghani government from being seen as "puppets" of the US or Europeans.

And no one can claim that the US is "making a mess" and leaving it to the rest of the world to clean it up.

Afghanistan has been a mess for decades now...
