The few times that I have been there I have actually enjoyed the shopping almost as much as shopping at the Despot.

I am a "walking TGT ad"...since I really like the way they run their stores. The management is very customer friendly...and IMO the only other store that compares with that customer friendly attitude is Nordstroms. (The opposite price range from TGT) By carrying so many various products, it is possible to make a trip to one store, and buy almost anything on your shopping list.

TGT now has a few food products...like milk and cereal, cookies and a few frozen items. Not a great selection...but sometimes saves a trip to the grocery store! (With the Food Group Pyramid...isn't there one group just for cookies, LOL!?!)

I have kind of a problem with TGT. The return policy is fairly lame (store credit). They also don't like to take things back without a battle.

My wife purchased some clock radio cd thingie there about 3 months ago. It worked fine so we pitched the box and kept the item. I mean - realistically if it works for a week you probably don't have a defective item, right? Well one night we see these sparks flying inside the unit (its translucent) and promptly unplugged it. No biggie....nothing important burned <g>. SO I go to take it back and the chick says "ahh I'm sorry you'll have to deal with the company." I said "its under warranty and its only 3 months old." She said "I'm sorry but we don't service the products...we just sell them." "Besides you don't have the box." "I can't do anything for you without a box." I said "I realize I don't have the box but I have the receipt." She then told me a receipt was no good without a box. At this point I'm beginning to sweat with irritation. I said "I'll tell ya what...I'll give you this receipt and the cd clock radio and as soon as I grab the same item you can have the box." She said "I'm sorry but we need the old box." I started to laugh in frustration (because the word box had been said about 9000 times) and asked to see the manager. At that point he comes out and he looks cool. So I explained the whole deal to him and said "Ya know, I don't have the box because its 3 months old." "I'm really sorry that I don't have the box but the box I live in isn't big enough to hold all the boxes and goods in addition to me, my son and THE box." He promptly walked back and exchanged it.

Anyhow...Its a bad policy and its going to piss off some consumer groups.
