re-structuring complete with lots of one-time items.

In this post Enron era, they will not be able to delay disclosing this decision for very long.

I went to store last week and appliances for in blowout mode like Jan's blowout of junk brought in for Christmas.

As long as they can find additional vendors willing to let them blow out free merchandise for a trial period they should be able to muddle along with sales growth as long as consumer spending stays alive.
I have noticed that they are really gambling with this store expansion and sales boosting strategies. I will know that HD has reached the end of the line in NJ when they have most stores so close to each other that every store only has 1 cashier open and they add full blown housewares dept. That was status of Rickel's Home Centers in NYC area after they bought out Channel Home Center in early 90's.

Currently HD has about 2 cashiers open most evenings that I am there and I just bought broiling pan that was masqueraded as a barbeque item. <g>
