Bill, they are just goozing the markets with derivatives from freshly printed Fed money. You can track all recent short-term advances to the Fed printing press, and all bigger declines to the Fed's lack of printing (For example, the Fed did a lot of 1 Mo repos in December, which had to be taken back in January. So the market declined. The Fed did a 729 Million coupon pass Yesterday. This is good for 1.5 day rally. So continuation of the rally depends on the liquidity news at 10 am today). Those guys are criminals, they know they will go down with the ship, so they are going to gooze this market as long as possible. In the end, though, Mr. Market always wins. Enron sec probes may have started the process. Just another view.

I see no repos today, and no coupon pass -so far. So presumably a reversal and a strong move down starting mid-day
