Gotcha. There is, of course, an argument that the violence of the elites is institutionally supported and thus much less visible whereas the violence of the non-elites is outside institutions (precisely because they lack the power to mobilize institutions to do their work for them) and thus more visible. Just messin' with your head.

As for factory owners, my own rather limited experiences/reading on the bigotry of the privileged leads me to believe that such bigotry was most rampant in Wall Street, banks (I have some experience here), the Ivies (some experience here), etc. and it was largely anti-semitic.
