FWIW, there is speculation at The Zoo that is, apparently, based on some article or press release that Prince Alaweed added to his CPQ position. Per the source, whatever that may be, the Prince said that he would reveal the name of the company in which he added shares soon, saying that the merger is 30 days away.
I do know that he has stated in the past that he is in favor of the merger.
Maybe he bought some HWP shares so that he could vote FOR the merger?
Someone was buying CPQ late in the day on Friday.

Who knows?????

This was posted on the HWP board earlier today and it nicely sums up the value of CPQ.

"On the Compaq side, there isn't much question that shareholders will vote to support the deal. This is a nice cash-out for them, and they may not get another chance to get out from under at this price".

Only a matter of time now.
If the ISS supports the merger CPQ sees 12, if they don't CPQ goes to SUNW level of 8, as the arbs that are currently in pull out.
Which way will it go?
We could/should know this week.
