Nokia confirms MobilCom bridge-financing
AFX (UK); Feb 25, 2002

HELSINKI (AFX) - Nokia Corp confirmed that it closed a 1.5 bln eur 3G network deal with the France Telekom owned Orange on April 3 last year, a deal also including Mobilcom's 3G network order.

"At that time, Nokia also provided a bridge-financing package for the development of the network, with an estimated value of 2 bln eur," said Maija Tommila, director of Nokia's corporate communications.

She declined to specify MobilCom's share of the deal, and said the press release from April 3 last year really sums up the information Nokia is willing to give on that deal.

Nokia is believed to have agreed credit of 1.1 bln eur to MobilCom last year against orders of 750 mln eur.
