That's a very instructive roadmap for the process of learning how to trade. You must be close enough to your roots to remember and appreciate how you arrived at success. How disheartening, that mediocrities need not apply. My theory was that a hungry remora could feed off of a shark if he were clever enough to swim in the same direction with him. To your list of required skills I would add attentiveness and powers of observation and association. Creativity is no doubt important, but I have tumbled to what works for me more often in the same way a blind hog occasionally finds an acorn. I like your puzzle analogy. To carry it one step further, it's as if someone had dumped all the pieces to several puzzles into one box. Thanks for sharing those important insights.
