I actually feel the same way. Unfortunately for AMD, they are constrained by the 266MHz front side bus on the Athlon. .13u manufacturing and SOI will give them incremental increases, but it may not be enough. On the other hand, since Hammer will be using a much higher bandwidth hypertransport bus, you might find that the difference in performance relative to the Athlon is even more pronounced by the time it launches.
