Andreas, Re: "If he wants to show the potential of the new technology against AMD's offering, he has to overclock both (e.g. 2.6 GHz/133 MHz P4 against 2600+/166 MHz XP)."

There is no way to overclock the Athlon high enough to measure your scenario. So how the heck would you consider it a fair comparison? Northwood outscales the Palomino - no surprise there - that's why there can't be the kind of comparison that you would like until AMD launches the Thoroughbred. Of course, that brings up my next point. Where is Thoroughbred? AMD is falling behind because they haven't been able to execute to their roadmaps. I'd say that the Tom's Hardware review exemplifies this. I'm sure that there will be a more "fair" review once AMD gets their act together.

Andreas - Re: "My same reasoning would apply to these benchmarks. They are stupid. "

But you waited until Intel won these stupid benchmarks to come to the Intel thread and denounce them.

Where was your pious and self-righteous indignation denouncing similar tests on the Ban Ban Mani thread when Tom used them earlier and the AthyWiper won many of the tests ?

Just where were they, Andreas?
