More audacious that the move by the Knights of Columbus that got the phrase added in the fifties?

A valid question, Karen. Inasmuch as you asked me, my answer is, "Yes, more audacious."

The Knights of Columbus waged something of a public relations campaign to generate support for the change, which the Congress approved. The Atheists, (and the ACLU ?) have taken the approach of filing lawsuits to seek a judicial resolution. On the one hand, we have a group seeking to make a change that will reflect the will of the people, and on the other, a group seeking to thwart the expressed will of the people by judicial fiat.

(I define the "will of people" as what the majority wants).

So I do see the latter as more audacious than the former.

If I am factually incorrect in any way with what I say happened, I expect you will let me know.
