I applauded the successes and lamented the failures in my post, John.

And a good morning to you, too. Here's the quote to which I responded.

One thing this country has to face up to some day if the failure of the Civil Rights movement. It was well intentioned, and did a lot of good to start, but. IMO, there is now more race hatred in this country than there was 20 years ago, and it is getting worse.

I read that to mean you felt that the civil rights movement had (a) gone too far and (b) was responsible for the "race hatred in this country".

My comment about your post was to suggest there are other, far more significant, reasons for an increase in race hatred (though I'm not at all certain you are right on that point) and the most prominent among them has been the willingness of the Republican Party via its alliance with the rabid right to give far too much credibility to race hate talk.

I did not accuse you of racism. You're just much too jumpy, sensitive, need to get another beer, something.

Relax,

John
