Gore's "Safe and Sane" Long Term Portfolio - let's look back in this 1 year from now.

Bear in mind, I took the close at the close of the trading today, without any effort to "time" the entry. Also, this was setup after a strong "up" day, so it will likely go negative in value almost immediately in this "up and down" market. This is primarily large cap with a few smalls and mids thrown in for a little diversification. Sector-wise a couple drugs, biotechs, energy, eduation, defense, security, consumers, and of course techs. Virtually all have reasonable PE's with just a little speculative growth stocks thrown in.

I won't even begin to analyze this for at least 6-9 months. This is a sock 'em away portfolio, designed as a test only to see how well a "Buy and Hold" strategy of mostly quality, time-proven companies worked. Of course I left out a few and may tinker just a little bit over the next couple days as I am sure I forgot some that should be in here.
