Depends. A few years ago, the c-w was that the nasdaq would keep going up forever, so I am skeptical.
One problem is the increased debt against homes, ie: home equity loans. There is no room for error.

The one thing housing has over stocks is a home is a tangible asset, whereas we have learned that stock values can turn into vapor in very short time.

Everyone needs housing, no one really needs to own a stock.
Supply & demand. Values will vary region to region, as always.
