The last point I wished to make is, once again, about carrying guns, either openly or concealed. I used the illustration of the assault rifle on Broadway in NYC. I could just as easily have used the illustration of carrying it the next time you try to take a commerical airline flight.

there are specific places one cannot legally carry a gun...every state differs somewhat...most do not allow concealed weapons in bars...some forbid all arms in their official buildings...a business owner can prohibit guns on his property...the feds do not allow common citizens to carry weapons on airplanes...but walking down broadway with an M16 assault rifle is perfectly legal.
the original point that you made was that it is unlawful to carry a weapon in the open in many states...i take it you agree that it is not....and i rest....you can have the last word.
