My comment was limited to the observation that the "Palestinians" were . . . . I took the writer to mean that all, or perhaps more conservatively, the majority of Palestinians were such and such, or believed such and such, or thought such and such. The writer could not know that.

It's always hard to get hard information on beliefs in a police state, which the PA is. But that doesn't mean there is no information. There is considerable evidence that supports this view, and some of it has been published in English.

Did you read Sontag's article in the NY Times magazine, or 'Suicide as Strategy' which appeared in the New Yorker last fall? These articles talk about the Palestinians 'resetting their clocks', saying to themselves, it took 90 years to oust the Crusader kingdom, it will take that long here, time is on our side. This is continually enforced by official Palestinian media which calls Israel a European colonial occupation by a people with no history in, or attachment to, the land.
