I'm very surprised they have it running on SOI.

Of course, yields and manufacturing costs may still turn out to be significantly above bulk SOI, but we'll have to wait a year or so for that - as well as any performance questions.

In my book, this (having Hammer functional on SOI) does increase the chance that AMD will be able to debut Barton if (when?) Intel gets "too far" ahead (i.e. severe ASP pressure).
