Hi Dave, >>I've never seen a higher negative correlation between the direction of the general market and my stocks.

The last time my portfolio experienced similar returns was when we were buying "cheap" stocks during the top of the internet mania .. we were buying baby Berkshire for less than $1500, Coal companies at half of their price today, etc.

We had the same opportunities during the 1998 melt down.

During the last gold bottoming process the gold companies were selling at unbelievable prices relative to the price of gold. Fortunately using KT's 1/3 rd game was able to obtain a low average price for these companies. I have to admit I bought 4 th thirds in a couple of them. <g>

Think it is important to find the sectors that are hated by wall street and look for the companies that have uncommon values during these periods.

Am also experiencing great paper gains on most of the stocks in my portfolio when the indexes are trading down. Own some biotech’s that I bought cheaper than they are trading today, but they are not happy at the moment. <g>

IMO, there must be some good values that will show up in the biotech sector during the trashing that they are getting at the moment. Wish I was a real expert in this area.

Take care, Joan
