Stocks that pay dividends are relatively immune to the alleged activities of "shorts and distorts". I can guarantee you that no short can distort and spread scare stories about MO. It is simply not possible. For if the stock price goes down, the dividend yield goes up and some buyers will step in. But in order to pay dividends, a company should have earnings. Not pro forma earnings, but real earnings! Therein lies the problem...
